Exciting New Volunteering Opportunities at Cannon Hall Museum
17th July 2025
Interested in volunteering at a Georgian country house museum surrounded by 70 acres of historic parkland?
Cannon Hall Museum is looking for Visitor Welcome volunteers to help greet visitors, chat to them and answer any questions and gather their feedback. This is a great opportunity to meet new people, help people to have an enjoyable visit and learn about the fascinating place that Cannon Hall is.
The museum is open Thursday to Sunday during term time and daily over Barnsley school holidays. If you could spare even a couple of hours a week, they welcome you to join them with your ideas, and involvement as part of the growing volunteering team. No previous knowledge of the house or its collections is needed.
In 2024, Cannon Hall Museum received national recognition from Visit England as being one of the most visited free attractions in England. You can read more about Cannon Hall Museum Park and Gardens here Historic House & Parklands | Cannon Hall.
This project has been made possible thanks to National Lottery Players.
