22nd May 2017
Barnsley Museums and Heritage Trust is delighted to announce that Graham Walker has joined the charity as a Trustee.
Graham Walker is a multi-award winning journalist and Commercial Content Editor for Johnston Press, whose responsibilities often take him all over the county but he describes Barnsley as home. Graham currently represents over 50 titles including The Yorkshire Post, Yorkshire Evening Post and The Star in Sheffield.
Graham’s experience and ambitious approach has earned him a reputation for being at the forefront of how people relate to media both online and offline. Previously he worked as Digital Editor at The Star, Sheffield, the Sheffield Telegraph and was Regional Digital Editor for 18 other Johnston Press titles in the South Yorkshire and Peaks publishing unit.
He explained how he is very much looking forward to being a ‘hands-on’ Trustee: “I am born and bred in Barnsley and I am honoured to be on the board of Trustees of this fantastic charity. What Barnsley has achieved over the last few years is remarkable and it is the dedication of the people behind the scenes that really make it happen – leaving a legacy to be proud of.”
Chair of Barnsley Museums and Heritage Trust, Margot Walker, said: “We are delighted to welcome Graham as a Trustee to the charity. He brings a wealth of experience from his comprehensive digital marketing and media background which will bring valuable support to the role of the charity and further support the delivery of our charitable objectives.”
