James Martin arrives at Elsecar
14th December 2016
TV celebrity chef James Martin will be appearing at Elsecar’s Flavours Food Festival on Sunday, 23 October.
The spectacular one day event will see the unique historical site of Elsecar transformed into a bustling food and drinks market, offering a wide variety of tasty treats and delicious beverages.
As well as stalls, street food and entertainment, James Martin will be performing live cooking demonstrations throughout the day. Visitors can see him live in the especially constructed grand arena, which seats over 300 people. At the performances, which last approximately forty five minutes, he will demonstrate a selection of his very own recipes which people can then recreate at home.
VIP tickets for the James Martin demonstrations have sold out fast; however, there are still limited standard entry tickets available for the 3pm session. Tickets are also still available for general entry and can be purchased online or on the day.
The Ironworks will be transformed into a bustling market place with over 50 local and national food producers displaying everything from cheese and kitchen wares to chocolate and gin!
While there, people can explore the original Earl Fitzwilliam’s Workshops, now converted into a series of independent shops, antiques centre, play area and quaint cafes.
The event offers free parking and shuttle bus service from Milton Forge Field. Visitors are advised to follow the event parking route, which will be clearly signposted and take advantage of the free bus service.
Cllr Roy Miller, Cabinet spokesperson for Place, said: “We are delighted to see the arrival of such a high profile event to Elsecar. There will be lots of delicious food to try and buy and a great place to start your Christmas shopping. We are sure visitors from near and far will have a great day out.”
