Together at the Town Hall
12th February 2026
Together at the Town Hall is a week-long community event bringing people together to enjoy activities, services and support in the heart of Barnsley. With a different theme each day, there’s something for all ages and interests.
A key part of the week is Fusion, a programme that Barnsley Museums & Heritage Trust is passionate about and supports with funding. On Thursday 19 February, Fusion will be at the Town Hall alongside partners from the Armed Forces Covenant and Barnsley College to showcase the work of the Secondary Arts Network, highlighting how schools, colleges and cultural organisations are working together to strengthen arts education and create opportunities for young people.
What’s on each day:
Monday 16 February – Family Day
Story and rhyme sessions, creative crafts and gaming for children, plus financial advice, community stalls and live performances.
Tuesday 17 February – Live Well Day
Cancer awareness sessions, breast screening information, Age UK and wellbeing support, alongside interactive healthy living activities for children.
Wednesday 18 February – Celebrating Our Borough
Arts and crafts, museum-led activities and pop-up flu clinics, as well as healthy eating advice and local recruitment stalls.
Thursday 19 February – A Look Back in Time
Remembrance workshops, stories from the past, veterans’ support and armed forces recruitment stalls – including Fusion’s Secondary Arts Network showcase.
Friday 20 February – The Future of Barnsley
Opportunities to meet the Youth Council, take part in consultations, explore investment opportunities and learn about Health on the High Street.
Saturday 21 February – Community Carnival
Music, performances, competitions including ‘win a bike’, scavenger hunts for children, local food and community groups in a vibrant finale to the week.
We look forward to seeing the Town Hall filled with activity, creativity and community spirit.
