The Pride of Yorkshire

The Pride of Yorkshire is an exciting sculpture trail in Barnsley and across South Yorkshire in summer 2026, featuring 300 lion sculptures to celebrate Sheffield Children’s Hospital’s 150th anniversary. 

The vibrant sculpture trail features 150 full-sized lion and lioness sculptures and 150 lion cubs and will take place from June to September 2026, with sculptures displayed throughout Barnsley, Sheffield, Doncaster, and Rotherham. The pride has been designed by local artists who were invited to submit designs for the lion sculptures, providing a platform for creative expression and visibility.

Additionally, you can buy Pride of Yorkshire merchandise at Elsecar Heritage Centre and Experience Barnsley Museum. Some of the lions are already in place, with the remainder due to be installed by Monday 15th June.  

Each lion has a special code, and you can sign up to the Pride of Yorkshire Trail at Home | Pride of Yorkshire and input the code to check them off the list.
