Stories of Childhood: a new exhibition at Experience Barnsley Museum 

Explore, reminisce and play! From christenings to cricket, samplers to school hats, toys and teddies, discover over a hundred years of growing up in Barnsley.  This free exhibition will be open in Experience Barnsley from Sat 8 Feb 2025 to Sat 17 Jan 2026. 

We’ve been searching through Barnsley’s museum and archive collections for stories of childhood and have uncovered all kinds of treasures and memories. On display will be classic board games, sports trophies, action figures and beautiful portraits.  There will be lots of opportunities to play and to share your stories about a favourite toy, best day trip out or that particular school dinner!
