Remotely Digital Project – Freelance Role
10th February 2022
Barnsley Museums is looking for volunteers to support the work of their six attractions and people can get involved in lots of different ways.
The new volunteers will join a dedicated team who support the museums in everything from gardening, research, and welcoming visitors to, cataloguing and championing what they do.
With new roles being introduced all the time people don’t even need to visit the museums to be able to get involved. New digital roles have been created, thanks to the support of the National Lottery Heritage Fund, where tasks can be done from the comfort of people’s homes.
For those with an interest in the borough’s fascinating past, Barnsley Archives are looking for new recruits to help update their vast and varied sound and film collection, with gems certain to be uncovered. This can be done at home, wherever home maybe, whether Barnsley, Yorkshire, England or afar. There are sure to be people globally who will want to get involved.
This project will be managed by a heritage professional who will coordinate remote volunteers with the aim of making the Barnsley Sound and Film Archive more accessible, this role is currently being advertised. For more information about this particular role and to apply visit:
