Paws, Claws, Tales & Roars Art Competition For Schools
9th February 2024
Barnsley Museums and Fusion, Barnsley’s Cultural Education Partnership, are very excited to launch Paws, Claws, Tales & Roars Art Competition for Schools offering pupils a very special opportunity to have their artwork exhibited in the Cooper Gallery during 2024.
The competition will celebrate creativity in schools across Barnsley and showcase student’s own masterpieces with selected artworks forming part of ‘Paws, Claws, Tales & Roars The Art of Brian Wildsmith’. This major exhibition will feature beautiful original illustrations and stunning artworks at the Cooper Gallery and Experience Barnsley Museum from 20 April to 21 September 2024
The competition is open to children and young people of all ages, at primary and secondary levels. To take part, schools will need to choose up to the best 35 entries and share digital copies of animal artworks created by their pupils with us by Monday 11th March 2024. Winning masterpieces will be exhibited in the Sadler Room at the Cooper Gallery as part of the exhibition as well as online in Fusion’s digital platform.
Taking part couldn’t be simpler… teachers just need to watch this short film to inspire pupils, then follow the instructions in a Teacher Pack that is being shared with all schools and use the resources provided to learn more about Brian Wildsmith and his beautiful work.
