New Audio Guide for Cooper Gallery Exhibition
4th September 2023
A free audio described guide to accompany the Cooper Gallery’s Light and Soul exhibition is now available.
The gallery has worked with VocalEyes to create the guide which can be accessed via QR codes in the Museum shop, via the Cooper Gallery website, and on SoundCloud. It is intended for people with sight loss to help them explore and experience the stunning artworks in the exhibition but is available for everyone to enjoy. Twenty-one artworks are audio described, bringing the artworks to life in a we new way.
People can listen to the guide, which was kindly funded by the Cooper Trustees, on their own devices or it can be used on an audio player, available to borrow for free from the Cooper Gallery.
Cllr Robert Frost, Cabinet Spokesperson for Regeneration and Culture, said: “We’re pleased that we have been able to create audio guides to accompany the beautiful Light and Soul exhibition, all thanks to funding from the Cooper Gallery Trustees. It allows the widest possible access to the artworks, which have been thoroughly researched by Curator Natalie Murray revealing some fascinating details. The guides enable deeper connections to the artwork and provide a greater understanding of their history.”
