‘Four Seasons in One Day’ – A Fascinating New Online Exhibition
13th February 2025
If you’re not able to get to the ‘Four Seasons in One Day’ exhibition at The Cooper Gallery, you can now experience it through their online exhibition.
Four Seasons in One Day is a co-curated exhibition developed with Action for Autism and Aspergers Barnsley Group (AfAB). AfAB is a small charity based in Barnsley Town Centre. They run weekly sessions for adults who are neurodiverse. They are a welcoming and friendly organisation with a membership of around twenty people. Getting involved with AfAB is an opportunity for people to be included in a wide range of activities whilst building friendships and social connections.
Following their successful 2020 collaboration, Allegories of the Senses, this marks AfAB’s second exhibition with The Cooper Gallery. The group have chosen artworks and objects from the collections of Barnsley Museums to capture the beautiful qualities of each season. The works on display have been selected from the collections at The Cooper Gallery, Cannon Hall Museum Park & Gardens, and Experience Barnsley Museum & Discovery Centre to create a multisensory exhibition that explores the themes of seasons, weather and nature.
If you are able to attend the exhibition in person, throughout the exhibition, there are sensory objects to explore through touch, sound and smell, including specially crafted scents that the group have co-designed.
