Barnsley Museums- Important Update

4th January 2021

Following the government’s announcement on the new national restrictions we would like to inform all visitors that the Museums and inside spaces will remain closed until Monday, 22 February 2021 (dependent on national guidance)

This includes:

• The Cooper Gallery including cafes
• Cannon Hall Museum
• Elsecar Heritage Visitor Centre
• Experience Barnsley Museum and café
• Barnsley Archives and Local Studies

Worsbrough Mill will remain closed for an extended period in 2021. Behind closed doors the team will continue to mill our range of organic flour which is available to via click and collect only or delivery basis (trade only) via ShopAppy at shopappy.com/barnsley/worsbrough-mill-flour/. Flour can be collected from the Millers Tea Room on Sundays and Wednesdays.

Our outside spaces will remain open for you, offering safe places to spend time when they are needed most for moments of relaxation, reflection and exercise.

The beauty and nature in our parklands and country park can have a positive impact on wellbeing and we hope that we can bring some comfort during these difficult times.

We do urge everyone to use their local spaces and avoid unnecessary travel for exercise as well as keeping time outside to a minimum to make outside areas as safe as possible. If you are visiting us only do so with your household, support bubble or one other person and keep two meters apart from others.

It’s important during these challenging times that we are kind to ourselves and others, working together as a community will make us stronger.

Remaining open will be:

Cannon Hall Parklands – car park, children’s play area, café (for takeaways only) and toilets.

Worsbrough Mill Country Park – car park, children’s play area, café (for takeaways only) and toilets.

Essential shops will remain open at Elsecar Heritage Centre and include Pauls Natural Foods and Mason Du Biere. Cafés will remain open for takeaways only.
