Barnsley Archives and Local Studies – 10 years of Barnsley Museums and Heritage Trust display

To celebrate the forthcoming 10-year anniversary of Barnsley Museums and Heritage Trust, Barnsley Archives have created a display which will showcase some of the items that have been purchased or conserved thanks to the generous donations of supporters of the Trust.
The display will include a volume of 15 original pen and ink plans of Barnsley drawn by Francis Kendray in 1800, a colourised print of the Oaks Mining Disaster and a Hoyland Common Co-Op Commemorative trowel along with other documents and objects of interest. You will be able to see the display in the reception area of Barnsley Archives from 28th October 2025 to 15th January 2026.
Barnsley Archives and Local Studies is located in the Town Hall and the opening hours are:
Tuesday 9:30am-12.45pm & 1.30pm-6pm*
Wednesday 9:30am-12.45pm & 1.30pm-4pm
Thursday 9:30am-12.45pm & 1.30pm-4pm
*Please note: if arriving after 5pm on Tuesdays you may need to press the door buzzer and wait for entry into the Town Hall.
