Barnsley Archives and Local Studies – 10 years of Barnsley Museums and Heritage Trust display

To celebrate the forthcoming 10-year anniversary of Barnsley Museums and Heritage Trust, Barnsley Archives have created a display which will showcase some of the items that have been purchased or conserved thanks to the generous donations of supporters of the Trust. 

The display will include a volume of 15 original pen and ink plans of Barnsley drawn by Francis Kendray in 1800, a colourised print of the Oaks Mining Disaster and a Hoyland Common Co-Op Commemorative trowel along with other documents and objects of interest. You will be able to see the display in the reception area of Barnsley Archives from 28^th October 2025 to 15^th January 2026.    

Barnsley Archives and Local Studies is located in the Town Hall and the opening hours are: 

Tuesday 9:30am-12.45pm & 1.30pm-6pm* 

Wednesday 9:30am-12.45pm & 1.30pm-4pm 

Thursday 9:30am-12.45pm & 1.30pm-4pm 

*Please note: if arriving after 5pm on Tuesdays you may need to press the door buzzer and wait for entry into the Town Hall.
