Art Unlocked Online Talk – January 10th

9th January 2024

Art Unlocked is an online event series brought to you by Art UK in collaboration with Bloomberg Philanthropies. Each week, different museum and gallery curators and directors from across the UK will deliver a 30-minute talk on selected works from their collection.

On Wednesday 10th January at 5.30pm, Melissa Gallimore, Freelance Curator will provide an insight into Cannon Hall Museum’s competing identities as an historic home, fine art collection and decorative arts museum.

Art Unlocked is delivered over Zoom Webinar and can be accessed via the event page once you have registered. There will be a short Q&A session after the talk.

The talk is free but there is the option to donate to Cannon Hall Museum and all donations are greatly appreciated.

About Cannon Hall Museum

Cannon Hall Museum was a family home until it was purchased by the then Barnsley Corporation in 1951. Since then, it has served the community as a fine and decorative arts museum. The collections range from masterpieces from the Dutch Golden Age to family portraits and extensive decorative art collections from the 18th to the 21st centuries including Dresser, Doulton, Wedgwood, Orrefors and Powell. The museum is also home to paintings and ceramics by Evelyn and William De Morgan as a result of a partnership with the De Morgan Collection.
