Creative talent required for Worsbrough’s refurbished Learning Hub
13th March 2025
Do you have a creative side? If so, why not help our friends at Worsbrough Mill with a new project at Worsbrough mill.
Thanks to funding from The National Lottery Heritage Fund and Barnsley Museums & Heritage Trust they have recently been making improvements to their Learning Hub, including essential new wiring, lighting and heating. The brilliant volunteers have also been hard at work helping to refresh the space with a fresh coat of paint.
This means there are now some wonderful white spaces acting as blank canvases … and they would love your help to change this!
These will be used to create a collaborative map of the whole site, which will be installed in the Learning hut as part of #WorsbroughMill400.
An image of the whole site has been divided into grid squares, and they are looking for volunteers to recreate each square using any materials, styles or techniques at a size of 30cm x 30cm.
Once each square has been individually created, they will be collated together to reform a unique map of the site, to be installed in the Learning Hub.
Local artist Sally Hunter Philburn has started us off with a fabulous, crocheted section, bringing an area of the reservoir to life!
If you are interested in creating a square of Worsbrough Mill & Country Park please get in touch by emailing: museumvolunteering@barnsley.gov.uk and they will provide you with all the details.
