BARNSLEY MUSEUMS HERITAGE TRUST HOST FIRST EVER SANTA DASH
14th December 2016
It is hoped people will don Santa suits and take part in the first ever Barnsley Museums Heritage Trust Santa Dash on Saturday, 3 December.
People of all ages are invited to take part in the 200m dash, which begins at eleven am, individually or as part of a team. They can go at their own pace and in their own way. This could be walk, run, skate, scooter or wheelchair, the race is open to all.
Santa dashers will be supplied with a free Santa suit as part of the ticket price, which is £6 per adult, £4 per child and £20 per family or team of four. All proceeds from ticket sales will go to the Barnsley Museums Heritage Trust, a charity whose aim is to ensure the future of the towns free museum service. Sites include Experience Barnsley, Cooper Gallery, Worsbrough Mill and Country Park, Elsecar Heritage Centre and Cannon Hall Museum, Park and Gardens.
The aim is that the Santa Dash will become an annual event. Anyone wishing to take part can book online at shop.barnsley-musuems.com
Cllr Roy Miller, Cabinet spokesperson for Place, said: “We hope as many people as possible will sign up to take part in the first ever Barnsley Museums Heritage Trust Santa Dash and support this very worthy cause. As well as taking part in the race people can also come along to the Town Hall Open Day for lots of fun family activities.”
