Insight Astronomy Photographer of the Year comes to the Cooper Gallery

7th December 2018

FREE ADMISSION, DONATIONS WELCOME

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the first lunar landing, the Insight Astronomy Photographer of the Year 2018 exhibition will tour for the first in its history – first stopping at the Cooper Gallery from Saturday 26 January – Saturday 27 April 2019.

The exhibition organised by Royal Observatory Greenwich is the largest international competition of its kind, showcasing the best space photography from a global community of astrophotographers each year. It marks ten years of awe-inspiring images shot by astrophotographers worldwide.

Visitors to the Cooper Gallery can expect to see all 31 incredibly detailed images from the winners, runners-up and highly commended, as well as loans from the National Space Centre. The exhibition is supported by the Shaw Lands Trust.

A programme of events which are simply ‘out-of-this-world’ will offer an almost complete intergalactic experience. Visitors can immerse themselves in the exhibition with sound and vision by donning a pair of Silent Disco headsets or feast their eyes on David Bowie by booking to see the glorious film ‘The Man Who Fell to Earth’.
